Dutch is a wonderful language and many will say it shares similarities with German, which it does, but there’s more you need to know about this language. Firstly, Dutch is a comparatively easy language for English speakers to learn because it’s one of the closest living relatives to English. Another great reason for learning this language is that the Dutch speak very good English. This means that finding a tutor or learning the nuances isn’t hard because your Dutch friend, peer or tutor can help you out by communicating in English when necessary. Once you’ve mastered Dutch, German won’t be so hard either, and many people who choose to learn German know some Dutch and vice versa. Finally, with Dutch ‘in the bag’ you can make friends, learn more about the Flemish culture and possibly even move to Holland some day!
