For text to read convincingly it has to sound natural. A big part of this is the writing style, which is often considered as the most difficult aspect of any text translation. The trick to a convincing translation is understanding what the words are communicating and how it is coming across.
Another way of looking at this is looking at how the document comes across to the listener. Does it communicate the overall feeling of the text? Or does it come across like a computer translated it, without any understanding of the tone of the writing.
It’s important not to become blinded by the words which are used in the source document. One of the main tasks that translators have is communicating what something means. As a translator, it’s your job to come up with the right words to form that perfect sentence and communicate the meaning as well as the logical words used.
